FAQs
Granola origin - Where does granola come from?
Granola originally comes from the USA and is very similar to muesli in terms of its ingredients. The difference with granola is the preparation. Crispy granola basically consists of rolled oats, cereals, nuts, fruit and honey. However, you can also mix your crunchy granola with seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, dried fruit such as sultanas, cherries and other fruits and berries. There are no limits to your granola.
How do I store granola properly?
To prevent your granola from becoming tough and to keep it nice and crunchy, you should always store it in an airtight container. We recommend an airtight glass container. Your crunchy muesli should then be eaten within 2 weeks. This way you can try out new creations more often. You can also buy our granola and mix your own flavour. But take a look at our granola muesli variations, you're sure to find what you're looking for! Our crunchy muesli is simply healthy and delicious.

Is granola really healthy?
We use oats for most of our granola mixes. This grain is highlighted by nutritionists as particularly valuable due to its ten percent fibre content, the quality of its carbohydrates, the protein composition, the unsaturated fatty acids and the vitamins and minerals it contains. It has also been scientifically proven that the beta glucan contained in oats has a positive effect on heart health.(1) Some of our Verival Granola mixes are made not only with oats, but also with barley, spelt and wheat. What do all varieties have in common? They are made from wholemeal flakes. Crunchy granola as a power breakfast Wholemeal is a grain in which all parts of the grain are processed. This means that nutrients such as fibre, vitamins, oils and minerals are ideally preserved in the granola. The flakes help to keep blood sugar levels constant, lead to a long-lasting feeling of satiety and aid digestion. The energy stores emptied overnight can therefore be optimally replenished with wholegrains.

What is the difference between muesli and granola?
Muesli and granola are both oat-based breakfast dishes, but differ in terms of preparation and consistency.
Muesli consists of raw, uncooked rolled oats, often mixed with nuts, seeds, dried fruit and sometimes spices. It is usually served cold, either with milk, yoghurt or a plant-based milk alternative, and can also be used as a base for overnight oats.
Granola, on the other hand, is baked and often contains additional ingredients such as honey or other sweeteners to hold it together and make it crunchy. The mixture of rolled oats, nuts, seeds and dried fruit is roasted in the oven, which gives it a crunchy texture and a sweeter flavour. Granola is also eaten with milk or yoghurt, but can also be used as a topping for smoothie bowls and desserts.
To summarise: Muesli is raw and uncooked, while granola is baked and crunchy.
